From the Outside Looking In, I Am a Project Manager, Business Analyst, Husband, Father. The Truth Is I Am Many Things.

I am a project manager. I have worked in big, medium and small projects. I have provided support for and run my own projects.

I am a business analyst. I have helped solve problems for business partners in the oil & gas, utilities, and higher education industries. I have also provided support, advice and collaborated with solopreneurs and small to medium businesses.

I am a technical writer. Functional documents. Technical specifications. Change impact documents. I have experience writing and received training in technical documentation.

I am a husband. For twenty years, my wife and I have made our way through the adventure that is our marriage: through cancer, anxiety disorders, redundancies, multiple country moves, and parenting.

I am a father. I have two beautiful young girls, who are blossoming into beautiful young women. It is my honour to watch them grow up. They inspire me to be a better person every single day.

I am a writer. Blogs. Journals. Books. Writing is my voice made real and alive in a world in which I often feel out of place and where I used to think that I did not deserve to be heard.

I am a martial artist. I am very well versed in both Malay and Chinese martial arts. Additionally, I have 33 years experience in skills as diverse as Karate, Filipino stick-fighting, Thai Kickboxing, and boxing.

I am a world traveller. I have been to the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Italy, Amsterdam, The United States, Mexico, Canada, China, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.

I am strong. I survived cancer. In 1999, I was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I went through both radiotherapy and chemotherapy — I have been in remission since.

I am Amir and I am pleased to meet you.

Welcome to my space.

Feel free to take a look around, to reach out if you are called to. Salam.
